Days 4 & 5 Israel: Sabbath & Dead Sea
Attending church at the BYU Jerusalem Center was spectacular along with strolling freely in the afternoon throughout Old Jerusalem. We attended the entire block meetings with the Jerusalem Branch which were outstanding.
Roslyn and I ventured on our own into the Old City and walking atop its walls was an absolute treat. We loved Armenian section of Old Jersusalem. We traveled to the Dead Sea and Masada on Day 5. It is unique as the lowest place on the earth at over 1,400 below sea level. The climate is true desert along with its high salt concentration in the sea allowing one to float in the water effortlessly. One word of caution, do not get the salt in mouth, eyes or nose. When floating, difficult to actually stand up in the water because of the boancy. Although it was winter in February, both the water and the air were actually wam! In summer, it must very hot! Masada is a historical place in history where Israel displayed much bravery again many legions of the Roman army.
